Place: Lalitpur, Malta
This time, a team of 15 people set off for a very remote village in lalitpur, named Malta, 50 kms away from kathmandu. It was extensively affected. Even the road to the destination was very difficult to cross, and the team doubted if they would be able to reach there at all. None of the houses were standing. There was no tent, no shelter of any kind. The people salvaged tin sheets from the broken houses and used them as a roof- which provided no protection against the rains. Others took shelter under trees and wove mattresses out of straw. The nearest hospital was all the way in Kathmandu. The sanitation was poor and the grounds were dirty and again, there was no form or electricity.
The team set off at 12 pm and it took them four very long hours to reach. Raksha Nepal had taken relief material to provide for around a 100 families. The people were in dire need of help. Raksha Nepal was planning on going further down to help another village; however, the rubble on the road prevented them from going any further.
