Raksha Nepal Celebrates 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in collaboration with the Ministry of Women

On November 25, 2024, Raksha Nepal proudly participated in the nationwide campaign marking the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, in collaboration with the Ministry of Women, Children, and Senior Citizens. Demonstrating its unwavering commitment to eradicating gender-based violence, Raksha Nepal played an active role in the rally, amplifying the powerful message of solidarity and change.

The rally began at 7:30 AM from Maitighar Mandala, with Raksha Nepal's dedicated team and supporters leading the procession. Participants carried banners and placards advocating for women’s safety and empowerment, uniting to voice their collective stand against gender-based violence.

Raksha Nepal’s involvement in the rally was more than just participation; it was an opportunity to amplify the organization’s mission and raise awareness about the importance of tackling gender-based violence. As a leading organization working for the rights of women and children in Nepal’s informal entertainment sector, Raksha Nepal used the platform to shed light on the need for systemic change to protect women and girls, especially those in vulnerable situations.

Representatives from Raksha Nepal engaged with rally participants, emphasizing the importance of addressing the root causes of violence. They also highlighted the organization’s ongoing efforts to empower survivors through educational programs, economic independence initiatives, and community advocacy. Raksha Nepal’s focus on the protection and rights of women and children, particularly those at risk of exploitation and violence, was central to its message during the event.

The rally’s international slogan, “Towards 30 Years of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action: UNITE to End Violence Against Women,” along with the national slogan, “Our Commitment: Solidarity to End Gender-Based Violence,” was amplified by Raksha Nepal’s representatives. This underscored the organization's commitment to aligning with both global and national movements to combat violence against women and girls.

This event marked an important milestone for Raksha Nepal, reaffirming its mission to create a safe and equitable society for all. It provided a powerful platform for the organization to reinforce its dedication to raising awareness, fostering advocacy, and collaborating with stakeholders to address the root causes of gender-based violence.

Through initiatives like this rally, Raksha Nepal continues to exemplify its commitment to driving meaningful change for women and children across Nepal, working towards a future free from violence and exploitation. Ending violence against women is possible, but only if we act together, now.

Let's join hands with "Raksha Nepal" to build a violence-free family and an egalitarian society
