SSP Mr Sharbendra Khanal's visit to Raksha Nepal

It is a well known fact that Raksha Nepal has been providing different types of supports and short term shelter to the sexual violence affected women, girls and their children. Along with this, the RN has also been organizing different activities for the overall development of the sexually assaulted groups.

On the auspicious occasion of Maghe Shankranti Raksha Nepal had organized one small program of taking Ghee and Chaku in order to introduce Nepalese culture and make the sexually assaultedgroups well cultured and discipline. During the program, the head of the Metropolitan Crime Investigation Division SSP Mr Sharbendra Khanal had arrived at the Raksha house to provide encouragement to the violence affected groups. Mr Khanal, known as a very strict and strong personality in maintaining law and order and combating against mischievous conduct in Kathmandu, however, seemed to be very kind hearted and gracious to the sexually assaulted groups.

The sexually assaulted groups warmly welcomed the guest through welcome songs and dances. Mr Khanal also addressed the sexually assaulted groups briefly and said that education and discipline are the two very important things in life. So, students should be well disciplined and serious in their studies. He also applauded Raksha Nepal and the organization's chairperson Ms Menuka Thapa for providing different types of services to the sexual violence affected groups. Moreover, SSP Khanal also provided financial support (Five thousand rupees) to the rape violence affected survivor girl who passed class 11 examination with 70% marks.

Finally, Raksha Nepal is very obliged to Sharbendra Khanal for his precious time. Raksha Nepal is in the mission of making Nepal free of sexual violence, rape and sexual assault. In this context, Raksha Nepal always wants to work together with police, administration and all the stakeholders together to fight against all forms of sexual violence. At last, Raksha Nepal wants to offer sincere thanks to Ms Anu Sherchan for sponsoring foods at the program.
