Succumbing to death after being raped – a 6 year old girl, Pooja Sah, in solidarity for justice - press release by Raksha Nepal

Raksha Nepal, for the past 11 years, has been working against sexual violence and rape victims. Its main goal is to make the society free of sexual violence. To meet this aim, Raksha Nepal has been coordinating with various political faction representatives, police administration, government stakeholders and other related organizations as per need.

In this context, on 20th February 2015, (Falgun 8, 2071), a 6 year old girl, Pooja Sah, from Bara District, Kalaiya bazaar (Central Development Region) was abducted, brutally raped and who succumbed to death during treatment on Sunday (8th March). Raksha Nepal family prays for the peaceful rest of the departed soul and supports the demand of her father to give ‘tough sentence’ to the perpetrator. Raksha Nepal will keep supporting the local peaceful protest rallies until the victim’s family gets justice.

Raksha Nepal has been coordinating with the victim’s family, local residents, including Save Daughter Struggle Committee (SDSC) and Social Development Committee and will continue to support the protest programs until the Nepal government addresses their demands.
We, further, would like to appeal Nepal government to pacify the anguish of Pooja Sah’s family demands for justice by addressing it soon.
