Moment of Pride: Raksha Nepal’s Founder President Honored with Rama-Haripriya Award

We are thrilled to share a proud and inspiring moment for Raksha Nepal!

Our Founder President, Ms. Menuka Thapa, has been awarded the prestigious Rama-Haripriya Award by Honorable Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut. The award, which includes a financial prize of NPR 100,000 and a certificate of honor, recognizes her unwavering dedication to women's rights, justice, and empowerment.

The Rama-Haripriya Award, initiated by former Public Service Commission Chairman Mr. Umesh Mainali, honors individuals making a profound impact in the fight against gender-based violence and social injustice. Receiving this award is not just an honor, but a reminder of the responsibility to continue the legacy of the late women's rights activist, Haripriya Pandey, and to strengthen the movement for a safer, more just society.

During the award ceremony, Ms. Thapa delivered a powerful message, appealing directly to Chief Justice Raut:

"Honorable Chief Justice, I urge you to take steps to introduce legislation enforcing the death penalty for child rapists."

Her words echo the core mission of Raksha Nepal — to protect, empower, and advocate for women and children vulnerable to exploitation and violence.

At Raksha Nepal, we stand united in admiration and gratitude for her fearless leadership. This recognition strengthens our collective resolve to continue fighting for the rights, dignity, and safety of every girl and woman.

A heartfelt congratulations to our Founder President, Ms. Menuka Thapa!  Your vision and relentless advocacy continue to inspire change and transform lives. We are proud to walk this path together with you.

Let us all continue striving for a future where every woman and girl lives with dignity, safety, and hope.
